1-223700 TRIUMPH - Version 1.1 Triumph! uses a variant of the standard ancients basing system. Most frequently this is 15mm figures on 40mm wide bases and 25mm figures on 60mm wide bases. However, the rules are base-width independent and work with bases of any width.

Triumph! uses a lightweight point system, so there is some variation in army size. For the standard game, most armies are in the range of 12 to 16 stands.

The standard game board is rectangular, 24 base-widths wide and 16 base-widths deep. This works out to a little larger than 3' x 2' for 15mm figures on 40mm bases.

From set-up to finish, a game of Triumph! usually takes about one hour to play. 1 vol, 68 pgs 2020 US, WASHINGTON GRAND COMPANY

2-215640 Hall, Simon MORTEM et GLORIAM: Rules for the Ancient/Medieval Covering 2000BC to 1500AD 2nd edition Contains box set of the new MeG rulebook, CCC grass set, cards and dice

The changes do not alter any basic rules structures. They change interactions between a few weapon types, the color card you need for certain maneuvers, point costs have been changed, things like that. The point cost changes just mean you need to download (for free) the lates version of the army builder. There are a few changes to how the pregame setup/terrain selection works.

Not sure what you mean by cosmetic, but almost all the changes are 'tweaks' as opposed to 'redesign' stuff. BTW, if you own the original stuff you can download all of the changes and bring your rules current from the website.

This 240-page hardback book with a new look and 20 world class pieces of artwork by Giuseppe Rava. It will integrate all clarifications, include a more extensive set of diagrams and will combine Maximus, Magna and Pacto in a single volume

1-223690 Kinrade, Warwick BATTLEGROUP NORTHAG - fictional setting in 1983 10mm scale Battlegroup Northag is a little different from our established WW2 Battlegroup system. For those that know and love the Battlegroup system (and those of you that have yet to embrace Battlegroup!), Northag carries a lot of its DNA from the parent WW2 system, like the Battle rating system and army list building, but has been specifically designed and streamlined for the smaller scale of 10mm (1/144th) to allow for more vehicles on the table and longer gun ranges. No 'parking lots' in this game!

The first Northag book contains rules, scenarios, detailed equipment data and army lists for Soviet and British forces. Future expansions will bring US, West and East German, other Warsaw Pact and Nato forces to the table. We will also be doing an Arab Israeli supplement1 vol, 0 pgs 2020 UK, PLASTIC SOLDIER COMPANY

1-223710 Potter, Philip The Mighty Warrior Kings - From the Ashes of the Roman Empire to the New Ruling Order The Mighty Warrior Kings traces the history of early Europe through the biographies of nine kings, who had the courage, determination and martial might to establish their dominance over the fragmented remnants of the Roman Empire.

The book begins with Charlemagne, who united large regions of current-day France, Germany and Italy into the Holy Roman Empire and ends with Robert the Bruce, who gallantry defended Scotland against the attempted usurpation of England. There are many famous warrior kings in the book, including Alfred the Great of Wessex, whose victories over the Vikings led to the unification of England under a single ruler, William I of Normandy, whose triumph at Hastings in 1066 changed the course of English history, while Frederick I Barbarossa led his army to victory in Germany and Italy solidifying and expanding the lands under the suzerainty of the Holy Roman Emperor.

Among the lesser known monarchs discussed in the work are Cnut, whose victory at the battle of Ashingdon won the English crown and resulted in the creation of the North Sea Empire, which ruled over the kingdoms of England, Denmark and Norway, while during the reign of Louis IX of France the knights of Europe answered his call for the Seven Crusade to expel the Muslims from the Holy City of Jerusalem.

From Charlemagne to Robert the Bruce, the warrior kings created a new Europe with a centralized power base and set the stage for the following Age of Absolutism.

1-223720 Kolovou, Loulia Anna Komnene and the Alexiad - The Byzantine Princess and the First Crusade Anna Komnene is one of the most curious ?gures in the history of an intriguing empire. A woman of extraordinary education and intellect, she was the only Byzantine female historian and one of the ?rst and foremost historians in medieval Europe. Yet few people know of her and her extraordinary story. Subsequent historians and scholars have skewed the picture of Anna as an intellectual princess and powerful author. She has been largely viewed as an angry, bitter old woman, who greedily wanted a throne that did not belong to her. Accusations of conspiracy and attempted murder were hurled at her and as punishment for her 'transgressions' she was to live the last days of her life in exile. It was during her time in a convent, where she was not a nun, that she composed the Alexiad, the history of the First Crusade and the Byzantine Emperor, Alexios I Komnenos (1081-1118), her father.

This book aims to present Anna Komnene - the fascinating woman, pioneer intellectual, and charismatic author - to the general public. Drawing on the latest academic research to reconstruct Anna's life, personality and work, it moves away from the myth of Anna the conspirator and 'power-hungry woman' which has been unfairly built around her over centuries of misrepresentation. It places Anna Komnene in the context of her own time: the ancient Greek colony and medieval Eastern Roman empire, known as Byzantium, with the magni?cent city of Constantinople at its heart. At the forefront of an epic clash between East and West, this was a world renowned for its dazzling wealth, mystery and power games. It was also known for a vigorous intellectual renaissance centuries before its western counterpart. This was a world with Anna Komnene directly at the center.

1-223730 Seidler, Hans Hitler's Anti-Tank Weapons 1939-1945: Images Of War Hitler's Wehrmacht and SS units will be remembered for their aggressive 'Blitzkrieg' tactics. But, as the war progressed, the Germans, recognizing the offensive capability of armored warfare, developed an impressive range of anti-tank warfare weaponry and munitions. 250 black and white illustrations

Using many rare unpublished images this Images of War book covers the full Nazi anti-armor capability from the 3.7cm Pak 35, 5cm Pak 38 and 7.5cm Pak 40 to the versatile 8.8cm Flak feared by the Allies. Also featured are the half-tracks and converted Panzers that pulled or mounted these weapons and carried forward observers and reconnaissance elements.

Later hand-held anti-tank weapons came into service and were effective and economic against Allied armor. The Panzerfaust, with its shaped charge warhead, became the first disposable anti-tank weapon in history.

This comprehensive book shows this formidable range of weapons in action from Poland in 1939, through North Africa and the Eastern Front to the final collapse in 1945.

1-223741 van Tonder, Gerry Korean War- Chinese Invasion V1: People's Liberation Army Crosses the Yalu, October 1950-March 1951 In his first four volumes on the Korean War, the author traces the war's progress from the North Korean invasion of June 1950, the desperate American defense of the Pusan Perimeter, General Douglas MacArthur's daring and highly successful amphibious offensive at Inch'on, and his subsequent advance across the 38th Parallel to the Yalu River on the Chinese Manchurian border
24 color & 75 black and white illustrations

Communist Chinese forces, that have been secretly infiltrating North Korean territory by slipping across the Yalu from mid-October 1950, ambush a South Korean regiment in the mountains of central North Korea. This is the first of several Chinese victories over unsuspecting and overstretched South Korean and American units in the winter of 1950/1.

On 27 November 1950, Chinese leader Mao Zedong, ostensibly fearful of the consequences of hostile American forces on his country's border along the Yalu River, orders 250,000 troops into Korea, with express orders to annihilate the UN forces. In the western half of the theater, US General Walton H. Walker's Eighth Army front along the Ch'ongch'on axis is breached, while to the east, the US X Corps suffers a series of crushing defeats, including at the Chosin Reservoir, precipitating a massive evacuation from the North Korean port of Hungnam. 1 vol, 128 pgs 2020 UK, PEN & SWORD

1-223740 Emerson, Stephen North Vietnam's 1972 Easter Offensive - Hanoi's Gamble By the end of 1971, in what Hanoi called the American War and at the height of the Cold War, the fighting had dragged on for eight years with neither side gaining a decisive advantage on the battlefield and talks in Paris to the end the war were going nowhere. While the United States was steadily drawing down its ground forces in South Vietnam, Washington was also engaging in a grand effort to build up and strengthen Saigon's armed forces to the point of self-sufficiency. Not only had the ranks of Saigon's forces swelled in recent years, but they were now being equipped and trained to use the latest American military equipment. Perhaps now was the time for Hanoi to take one last gamble before it was too late. 75 b/w & 20 color illustrations.

With the rumble of men and mechanized equipment breaking the early morning silence, some 40,000 North Vietnamese troops advanced across the demilitarized zone into South Vietnam on March 30, 1972 in what would become the largest conventional attack of the war. Ill-prepared and poorly led, South Vietnamese troops in the far north were quickly routed in the face of the ensuing onslaught. Likewise, coordinated attacks across the Cambodian border northwest of Saigon and into the central highlands in the coming weeks gained steam and in due course as many as 200,000 men along with T-54/55 main battle tanks, 130mm towed artillery, ZSU-57 self-propelled ant-aircraft guns, and hundreds of trucks and armored personnel carriers were engaged across three battlefronts. Soon Saigon's beleaguered forces were being pushed to the brink of defeat in what appeared to be the end for the Thieu government. Ultimately, however, the timely and massive intervention by U.S. and South Vietnamese air power, along with the bravery of some South Vietnamese commanders and their American advisers saved the day. Hanoi's gamble had failed and in its wake lay up to 100,000 dead and South Vietnamese roads littered with the smoldering wrecks of North Vietnamese military equipment. Moreover, it would be another three years before the North had recovered enough to try again.
