This work presents a history of the Teutonic Order during the Middle Ages, its creation, its role in the Holy Land and along the coast of the Baltic Sea, and its expansion into Prussia and the Baltic countries, where the 'Porte-Glaives' knights continued the order. Les Chevaliers Teutoniques includes an extensive and rich collection of illustrations covering documents, weaponry, and castles of the Order, along with maps and magnificent contemporary color photos of several of the castles, particularly Marienburg. The Battle of Tannenberg/Grunwald is also presented with exceptional photos of its reenactment for the 150th anniversary of the battle.
