FRENCH ARTILLERY: And the Gribeauval System Vol. 2 (Officers and Soldiers # 26)

FRENCH ARTILLERY: And the Gribeauval System Vol. 2 (Officers and Soldiers # 26)
by Letrun, Ludovic and Mongin, Jean-Marie

1-203372

After discovering the artillery pieces and the equipment used by the Foot Artillery at the end of the Ancien Regime, the Revolution and the First Empire, discover the men of the 'Arme Savante' (the knowledgeable arm) who moved their guns around and served them on horseback.

The mobile artillery, then the light artillery, and finally the Horse Artillery was a new weapon which announced the changes in the centuries to come. Just like the Artillery Train which, with the First Empire, finally grew up, to the age of regulations. This was the organization of Mr. de Gribeauval, the Inspector of Artillery, set up slowly over nearly 30 years and which remained more or less as it was until 1825.
