Over the following eight months, skirmishes, ambushes, and sudden attacks, which were to become Cordoba's trademark tactic, became the norm. Cordoba was the Spanish commander in Naples prior to the land dispute, and then he successfully led the Spanish to victory in 1503 to claim Naples once more.
