Study of the little-known Italian Social Republic armored unit Armored Group of the Leoncello. Little documentation of the unit was available and the 1960s information proved to be riddled with historical errors. The discovery and analysis of a series of previously unknown documents allowed the author to further investigate the subject and clarify many aspects of the short operational life of this tank unit. Presents the story of the Leoncello, from the conception at the Carristi Depot in Verona, to operations under its vigorous commander Captain Zuccaro, and to its epilogue in the days of the partisan insurrection.
