OPERATIONS OF THE MOUNTED TROOPS OF THE EGYPTIAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE

by Edited by Wilson, John
1-247800
The E.E.F. came into being in March 1916 from the remnants of the British troops from Gallipoli and the troops already in Egypt, although it lost ten of its fourteen infantry divisions to other theaters in quick order. The multinational force of Australians, New Zealanders, Indians, and British Territorial troops became a strategic reserve for the British Army. This book was originally published as a series of 10 articles in the Cavalry Journal between 1921 and 1923. The articles were an attempt to bring together learning form what was probably the last major cavalry campaign.
